It's Spring???
Grrr. It needs to be warm! We went to Arapahoe yesterday for "Easter" and my mom dug up three trash bags full of daylillies and iris for me to plant. I was all geared up to go plant this afternoon, but it's too dang cold! Maybe tomorrow after school.
No other news to report other than we're still sleeping upstairs. We did get an air mattress because we are tired of springs and a bar in our backs from the hide-a-bed. Allen's supposed to come home and sand some more today. Our friend that is helping us has a really big project going on, so we're waiting for him to have some "free" time to come back and help Allen finish up. It will get done. The carpet is coming April 28th, so we have at least until then to get everything painted.
Cael has a new excuse. Why can't you do it, Cael? "Because I'm hungry!" We don't think he really understands exactly what that means because the other night we asked him if he could come finish his pizza. "No, I can't." Why? "Because I'm hungry!" (sigh) right. Anyway, we hope you all had a Blessed Easter!

State Speech
We went to State Speech yesterday in Kearney. The kids did really well. We got third in the first round, but fifth in their second. No finals for us, but I'm proud of their performances. It was a good experience for everyone that went since my juniors got to watch rounds in their events when our kids weren't performing. We came away with plans for next year's season. Now we need to get working on the Jr/Sr. play that my kids want to do. We'll start that after Easter break since we're off today and go back next Wednesday. We'll have an Open House night at school and then take the play around to the different Lutheran elementary schools for a bit of recruitment.

A family weekend
This weekend some family came from Iowa (cousin Karen with her daughters Allison, Sarah, and Emily, and Uncle Kenny and Aunt Shirley) and cousin Cathy from Hastings with her son Michael. We had a lot of fun in Arapahoe. We did some archery and rode LeAndra and Todd's horses.
Cathy shot as a "lefty."
Dad got a bullseye!
Dad's brother Kenny rode "Randy."
It was just fun to all be together and have fun on the farm where LeAndra and I grew up.

Going to State!
We had District Speech today, and by golly, wouldn't you know it - my OID made it! (Oral Interpretation of Drama). I'm really proud of them. They've worked really hard all season - and they're all seniors. So next Wednesday we're off to Kearney!

Chillin with the Huskers
I had to go downstairs to do laundry tonight. Cael needed to stay upstairs because it's so messy down there. He requested to watch the Huskers. We have a tape of the Orange Bowl game when the Huskers kicked the snot out of Florida (those were the days, huh?). I came upstairs (keep in mind it's bedtime) to find a little man sacked out in front of the tube. All boy. I'm surprised his little hand wasn't tucked in his little waistband.

Nice Saturday, COLD Sunday!!
What the heck? 70 degrees on Saturday, and today it snowed for about 30 minutes! It needs to get warm and stay warm! We did get outside yesterday. While Allen and Jeff Bexten were drywalling, Jeff's wife, Misty, and I took our kids to the park. Molly, Maggie, Darrin, and Cael had a great time!
We only have a little more to drywall and then we can paint! YEA!
