We went to Harvard yesterday. It was a good meet overall. It started late and was dragging a bit, but we brought home some hardware. Two of our boys (Jacob Schwan and Matt Ellis) both placed second in their weight class. We had a good turnout of spectators, which was surprising. Even a couple basketball players came. I don't think they realized just how much pain our wrestlers have to endure. Maybe now they won't be so quick to criticize!
Cael made Christmas presents for family and friends this year. He painted some ceramic ornaments and had a great time doing it! Sorry about the sideways pic!
Uncle Brent and Aunt Kassidy Gascho gave Cael his "Jimmy Mack." I think it's his favorite!
This is a picture of our youth group kids practicing the Christmas program. I wrote it this year, and am going to start working on next year's.

Here we go...

I didn't think I'd ever do this, but since it's how I keep updated with several of my friends, I figured I'd give it a try. I'm going to try and keep it up to date. (Allison does a great job - I don't know how she keeps up!)
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We did! Between several different sides of our families, we got to see a lot of people. I'm on school break until the 7th, but we have two wrestling meets to go to. One tomorrow in Harvard, and Burwell on the 4th. Allen loves coaching, and he's pretty good at it. I'm there, as always, as his loyal and trusty stat keeper. He's also the assistant bakery manager for Super Saver.
I'm teaching English, Sp/Drama, and, of all things, Home Ec. at Heartland Lutheran High School. This is speech season, but I'll only miss two wrestling meets because of speech. I won't get to be at the meet that's actually in town, and I'll miss the second day of Districts, which is when our boys have the chance to qualify for state. I'll be sad not to be there, but my speech kids would really miss not going to their meet. Why do things have to be so complicated?
We have a good amount of snow right now. Cael loves to play! He's such a busy two year old! We play with CARS, trains, and anything else that has wheels. We watch CARS, Shrek, Nemo, and Star Wars. Allen's so proud of Cael's light saber moves. He was Yoda for Halloween and wants to watch SW anytime Allen is home. One night Allen promised Cael that they would watch SW in the morning when Cael woke up. 4:15 came awfully early when a little boy came to the side of the bed with the SW case. "Daddy! We watch Star Wars!" Everything is a star ship - from our fork at supper, to the washcloth at bathtime. I know Dan, you're proud too, huh?
Well, I hope everyone has a safe new year! Blessings!
